Population and Household Formation Database Service

Canadian Industrial Sector Forecast

This service offers economists and analysts access to data series and tables including historical and forecast data for their industry. Databases contain detailed financial and economic information that underline the conclusions outlined in the industry reports.
The databases contain the detailed data for each of the 16 sectors. Included is access to a full set of historical data—going back as far as 1987—and a 5-year forecast for each indicator, in quarterly and annual frequency. Data is updated two times a year and can be downloaded as individual series or in formatted tables. Between 21 and 400 indicators for each industry sector.

Help Wanted Index

The Help-Wanted Index is an indicator of the number of new jobs advertised online. Our empirical analysis has shown that variations in the number of jobs posted online are generally followed by similar variations in employment in the ensuing months. Thus, the index can be used to predict near-term employment trends. Data is released monthly and is available for Canada, the Provinces and 27 CMAs.
